Closer Than my Peeps You are to me
The Girls took a walk down to "Crabbie's House" AKA the creek at the end of our street with Steve. They chased each other the whole way back!

Gabby came over to help Madeline get over her fear of the PowerWheel. I hated the thought of her super fun toy sitting in the garage all summer!!! Gabby is a pretty fearless little one so she took Madeline for a spin in our backyard to help warm her up to the idea!
Madeline eventually warmed up to the idea and tossed Gabby in the back of her truck for for a ride! Gabby was so cute and kept saying "She's not scared anymore!" Gabby's a good friend!

Fast Times on the Farm

I insisted that Steve let me drive the tractor today to TRY to bring this little baby boy into the world but....even after an hour of mowing the bumpy yard...no baby. Zilch. Oh well. Least the yard got mowed!
Madeline wants two things right now - 1) To be with Daddy as much as possible 2) To be outside as much as possible. So they have been making the most of the nice weather of late and have been spending LOTS of time together outside. It gives mommy a chance to recoup - as I have NO energy these days, and tires Madeline out right before bed which doesn't hurt anything! Daddy got the idea to hook Madeline's wagon up to the big tractor and she couldn't have been more thrilled! They rode around all over the yard for quite a while. (And no worries the exhaust doesn't come out the back!) They also flew a kite, watered flowers, planted grass, took scooter rides, visited "Crabbie" at the creek, walked down to see the miniature ponies, went to the post office, and took Austin on a walk!
We finished up our weekend with a cookout with the neighbors which we all enjoyed. Madeline drove around the backyard in her PowerWheels Ford F150 and enjoyed swinging in the hammock.
No idea when babyboy is going to make his entrace - every time I feel like it's just around the corner, it changes ... I've just decided to accept that he'll come when he comes and there's not much I can do to control it. Sigh.

This is Emily Yeung writing a blog

So Disney's morning lineup has changed. And since I've been pregnant Madeline's morning routine has come to start with half an hour with me in bed watching a cartoon. Depending on when she wakes up determines what show we watch together. If I have to get ready to go somewhere, she maaaaay get another show in the morning.
A few times we have caught "Special Agent Oso." It's one of Disney's new original shows.
It's terrible. I mean I really hate it. Granted, no cartoon has me enthralled (except for Charlie and Lola oh how I love them!) but Higglytown Heroes was tolerable - the Wiggles aren't bad. (Imagination Movers though - I hate them too) - even the little "in between" shows weren't bad - Choo Choo Soul, Emily Yeung.... now we have the double whammy of Oso and "Pass the Plate" which Madeline and I both hate.
The premise of Oso is that he gets called in to help children do something they don't know how to do. The first one I saw he was helping a child get a book at the library - great - promote reading! Show kids how to use the computer! (Oh remember using card catalogues??) But then the projects got stupider. Special Agent Oso helps a kid get the mail. Oso helps a kid pull up his pants. Oso helps a kid take off a band-aid.
Maybe I doth protest too much. But this is a cartoon I just can't stomach.
BRING BACK EMILY YEUNG!!

I have it so hard
It seems that I seem to think that my life is the hardest in the world sometimes. Ohhhh it's so hard to be at home all day with my crazy two year old - oh it's so hard to live so far away from my friends...... blah blah.....sometimes I just get sick of myself!
I just watched a little "blip" with a mom feeding her child some milk. She had some sort of disability (I think maybe cerebral palsy?) and can't do much herself. She showed all the steps she went through to make the milk and thicken the milk and put it in a certain glass that she can drink out of and then feeds it to her. She was talking about trying to give her little "breaks" here and there because what child wants to chug an entire glass of milk at once?
I get annoyed because my child can't put her own crocs on.
Sometimes I'm just so sick of my own attitude. What an easy, easy life I have.......
